Description
Reusable 54mm stainless-steel puck screen for Breville espresso machines with 54mm filter baskets.
Placed directly on top of the tamped coffee bed, the fine perforated screen helps distribute water more evenly across the puck while reducing coffee residue on the machine’s shower screen. It is a simple, reusable upgrade for cleaner brewing and more consistent preparation.

Basket depth and coffee dose must leave enough headspace for the screen.
☕ Why use a puck screen?
- Helps spread brew water evenly over the coffee puck
- Reduces grounds and residue reaching the shower screen
- On machines fitted with a three-way solenoid, helps reduce coffee fines and oils entering the exhaust and solenoid circuit—limiting contamination that can contribute to sticking valves, restricted flow and avoidable breakdowns
- Helps keep the group head cleaner between backflush cycles
- Reusable stainless-steel construction
- Fine perforations provide broad, even coverage
🛠️ How to use
- Dose, distribute and tamp the coffee as normal.
- Place the puck screen flat on top of the tamped coffee.
- Lock in the portafilter and brew normally.
- Remove, rinse and dry the screen after each use.
If the portafilter is difficult to lock in or the screen contacts the shower head, slightly reduce the coffee dose to create sufficient headspace.
🧼 Care
Rinse after every extraction. Periodically soak in a suitable espresso-machine cleaning solution, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. This listing includes one 54mm puck screen.
