Breville Oracle is Making Flat Milk

🥛 Breville Oracle making flat milk?

If your Breville Oracle heats the milk but makes a high-pitched sound and produces flat, thin milk instead of silky microfoam, this is most common on the BES980 and BES990. It is usually one of three things.

1. Air pump — the small pump that supplies air to the Venturi valve.
2. Venturi valve — the most common cause of flat milk.
3. Steam wand — less common, but a small internal split can stop the wand from frothing properly.

🔧 Most likely: the Venturi valve

Inside the Venturi valve is a small plastic nub and spring. Scale can make it stick, so the air pump cannot open the valve and the milk receives no aeration. Cleaning it can sometimes help, but it commonly sticks again soon afterwards.
