Description
VERY common to fail on a range of machines, particularly the Dual Boiler. Reasons to replace include:
- If you press any shot button (BES900/920/980/990) and the pump doesn’t engage IMMEDIATELY. This indicates the pump is failing, the coffee boiler wont fill correctly and increase chance of failure. Common problem to press shot button, hear click of solenoid, silence for 1-7s and then the pump to enage, skipping some or all of the preinfusion
- Pump engaging and then going silent (BES870)
- If your BES870 has flow issues and you have a PHOENIX pump (ULKA is the gold standard, phoenix pumps are a poor quality and known for failure)
- Pressure oscillating (bouncing) in the higher range
Suggest to purchase o-ring kit and do full service simultaneously
