Basket Getting Stuck in Machine
So this happens a lot on the Brevilles (Dual Boiler and Oracle, or the BES900/920/980/990) as Breville has opted for a plastic Inner Shower Screen. You go to make your coffee and once finished with the espresso, take out the portafilter but the entire basket gets stuck up in your machine. Sometimes it’s SO tight that you need to pry it out!

What’s happened is that over time, this part has failed and cracked, allowing it to expand. When you’re putting the Portafilter and basket in, and tightening it, you’re closing the Inner Shower Screen. This then expands onto the basket, effectively grabbing onto it, keeping it wedged up into the machine.
Fortunately, all you need to do is get the hex key that came with the machine (or raid the tool box, standard size) and take out the one screw. We supply an upgraded replacement Inner Precision Shower Screen that is Stainless Steel that wont need to be replaced again:
